A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen in the South Wales area to work for a highly regarded and fast-growing PE backed business. This is an exciting opportunity and will offer the successful candidate a chance to manage and oversee the group harmonisation project from a payroll perspective.
The assignment is expected to last approximately 6-9 months, however for the successful candidate the role could be extended, dependant on project timescales. The suitable candidate will possess a proven track record of delivering on projects and experience of harmonising different business units to ensure the project is implemented in a timely and effective manner
Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will be required to develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders in order to lead the transformation project and understand what is best needed in order to drive this project over the line. Supporting HR and Payroll operations to agree on a consistent approach across all 3 entities.
The successful candidate will be required to document all processes and policies of their current payroll, to make sure there is a join-up of all areas of the Transition Plan and catalogue and work through all risks and issues to achieve the stated objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Review and understand current payroll processes from beginning to end
- Define objectives and agree timelines with Senior Leadership team
- Transform the payroll into a digital and paperless system
- Automate timesheets with direct interfaces with HR, Payroll and Time and Attendance systems
- Boost the effectiveness and efficiency of current payroll systems
- Support the payroll team to develop and manage payroll systems, controls and policies to ensure that their processes are robust
- Drive the ‘Transformation Plan’, putting in place robust programme management structures to deliver key outcomes
- Ensure all workstream leads are delivered to set objectives and targets
- Evaluate and assess outcomes in real time, to ensure the programme is on track
- Report regularly to the Senior Management Team and Directors and resolve operational issues and provide solutions
- Undertake all stakeholder management
- Mange the transition of change and work with other managers to embed key changes within the operating models
- Measure and monitor key outcomes
- Compile written reports with key data and a focus on recommendations and actions
- Delivery of presentations
Person specification:
- Strong Project Management background
- Previous Finance / Payroll experience highly desirable
- Experience of successful stakeholder management in complex change programmes
- Demonstrable experience of successfully managing complex change programmes
- A recognised programme Management qualification – Prince2, APM, PMI
- Ability to set priorities, manage workload and that of a wider team in delivering against a challenging timeline
- Strong project leaderships and interpersonal skills, in order to build professional working relationships across multiple departments
The role would ideally suit a candidate who has previous project management experience having successfully coordinated and delivered complex projects managing change from manual to digital in an organisation within set timeframes, to various stakeholders and to a high-quality standard.
You must possess excellent all-round communication skills, have the ability to work to tight deadlines and have had exposure of working within a similar role. You will be required to work a 37.5 hour working week however, my client does offer flexible working. The role will be hybrid, depending on business requirements and all equipment will be provided.
