A fantastic and rare opportunity has arisen in the Llantrisant area for a confident, professional and determined Accounts Assistant. Due to an internal restructure the role has been created to support the finance team with the day to day transactions of the business.
The successful candidate will be working towards the early stages of their AAT qualification and looking for the opportunity to gain experience. In the role, you will support the finance team with purchase/sales ledger invoicing and payroll however, over time the role will expand and you will be exposed to a variety of accounting duties, whilst being trained by the best!
The role would suit an individual that is looking for a varied and challenging post that will encompass finance and exposure to all elements of the business in order to gain a superb knowledge of this prestigious organisation.
My client is looking for applicants who are studying towards their AAT qualification and enjoy looking at systems, analysing data and have a passion and desire to learn. Working as part of a small and friendly finance team, you will be required to support the Financial Controller with driving efficiencies within the organisation and implementing these changes also.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Purchase ledger processing, matching, batching and coding of invoices, query resolution, seeking authorisation and assisting with the payment runs
- Sales ledger, downloading POD’s and dealing with queries
- Providing cover for the payroll function for approximately 200 weekly employees using a time and attendance / clocking in system
- Review controls and systems and assist with any management information and reporting as and when required by the FC
- Liaising with department managers to understand their costs and provide commentary for the monthly management accounts pack
- Any other ad hoc tasks as and when required by the finance department
Person Specification:
- Adaptable, bright and energetic
- A self-starter/ be able to work on your own initiative
- AAT studier
- Intermediate Excel skills
- The ability to communicate with all levels of people is vital coupled with an inquisitive mind
- Strong customer service skills
- Flexible, happy to roll up sleeves and support the team
- Excellent IT skills, using a variety of accounts packages – Sage highly beneficial
