A temporary opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to work for a global, high profile business situated on the outskirts of Newport. This is a superb opportunity and my client is seeking a candidate who will work closely with the wider finance team to ensure the AP financial transactions of the business are recorded accurately, in order to provide a smooth and efficient service. The assignment is expected to last approximately 3 months.
The successful candidate will ideally be working towards their AAT. The role requires an individual that is confident and happy to work as part of a small and friendly team. You will support the accounts payable manager on a day to day basis dealing with high volume transactions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Resolve supplier queries
- Monitoring the AP inbox on a daily basis
- Liaise with other departments to ensure updates on orders and all works are completed to ensure prompt payment times
- Match and input purchase ledger invoices and code gaining approval for payment
- Supplier statements and review aged creditors on a weekly basis to ensure invoices are being paid
- Prepare payment runs for the Manager and enter to the online banking system
- Assist the finance team with month end procedures
Person Specification:
- AAT Studier and/or a more experienced individual that is happy to work within a transactional role
- Excellent communication skills
- Driven and determined to make a difference
- Conscientious and hard working
- Strong IT skills and ERP system knowledge

The role will be office based initially, until you are up and running and then hybrid working will be offered. 3 days in the office and 2 working from home. All equipment to be provided. Hours are Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5pm.
