Part-Time Accountant
Salary up to £35,000 Pro Rata DOE
Hybrid Working – Cardiff City Centre
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen in the Cardiff area to work for a highly regarded charitable organisation. This is an opportunity that will offer the successful candidate a chance to really make a difference within their local community, whilst adding financial support and value to the Senior Management Team.
As sole person within finance, they are looking for a reliable and passionate Part-Time Accountant to work approximately 1-2 days per week dependant on workload. The hours and workload may vary month by month and therefore they need an Accountant that can be flexible with the organisations’ needs.
The suitable candidate will be responsible for the day to day transactions of the business, monthly management accounts prep and the Year End statutory accounts.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee and manage all the transactions of the organisation to include, purchase/sales ledger/credit control functions
- Preparation of the monthly management accounts pack to include detailed analysis
- Maintenance of the bank account/petty cash/ fixed asset register
- Manage the month end process, closing the ledgers, ensuring payments are co-ordinated
- Liaise with auditors, external accountants, bankers, funders and other bodies regarding all financial matters
- Preparation of the YE statutory accounts pack
- Work closely with the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team to support with the financial information of any grant funding applications
Person specification:
- Charitable sector background highly beneficial
- Previous Xero experience would be highly advantageous
- Experience of working with a variety of people
- Problem solver, not afraid of the ‘doing’
- Easy-going personality
The role would ideally suit a candidate who has previous experience within a charitable setting. Please note, this is not essential as my client will consider applications from all candidates that can clearly demonstrate the above skills and experience.
The role is part-time, approximately 14 hours per week and they are completely flexible with days/hours worked. The role will be remote working with occasional travel into the office as and when required. Initially, for training and ‘getting to know’ the team etc, they would like you in the office.
You will possess excellent all-round communication skills and enjoy working as part of a close-knit team. This role is an on-going temporary assignment, but long-term there could potentially be the chance of a permanent opportunity.
