A fantastic temporary to permanent opportunity has arisen in the Cardiff area for a confident and professional Finance Assistant. This is an extremely exciting opportunity for someone that is looking to progress within the accountancy profession in the long-term. The role is initially being offered on a temporary basis with a view to going permanent for the successful candidate.
Working for a highly respected business, that continues to grow and expand, my client is seeking an individual that wants to come in and learn the ropes. Covering all aspects of the transactional side initially, over time the Financial Accountant will support and train you in order to take on additional responsibilities within the organisation.
Ideally you will have previous accountancy experience, having worked within a transactional environment. Dealing with the bank reconciliations, credit control/sales and purchase ledger functions. My client is ideally seeking applications from AAT studiers or perhaps candidates that are no longer looking to study, but happy to stay within a transactional finance role for the long-term.
Working as part of a busy and friendly finance team, you will be required to support the wider organisation with the efficient and effective running of the accounts function.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Bank reconciliations across all group companies
• Journal entry of direct debits standing orders and transfers
• Processing ad hoc cheques, matching deposits to sales data
• Investigating variances
• Importing data into Sage
• Ownership of various reconciliations and month end reporting
Person Specification:
• Good all-rounder with a solid background within accounts/book keeping
• Adaptable
• A self-starter/ be able to work on your own initiative
• AAT studier / fully qualified
• Good Excel skills
• Previous experience of using Sage would be a distinct advantage
• The ability to communicate with all levels of people is vital coupled with an inquisitive mind
My client offers fantastic working conditions, you will be required to work Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm and the role will be office based. Can be flexible with the start/finish times.
