Company Accountant – outskirts of Cardiff
Salary up to £35,000 + benefits package
My client is recruiting for a strong technical Company Accountant to come in and join them at a very exciting time. The business is currently in a period of growth and after out-sourcing their accounts function, they are now excited to be bringing the role in-house. As a result, they are looking for an AAT Qualified Accountant / Bookkeeper to join them at this exciting time.
Reporting into the MD, the successful candidate will over-see the accounting and payroll function. Acting as the key finance person on site, you will be required to oversee the day to day running of the accounts department, with additional support from one administrator.
My client requires a self-starter to develop and implement processes, policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will happily roll up their sleeves and get involved with the various tasks needed to set up a new business.
My client will also consider applicants who are Qualified by Experience, possess a strong technical accounting background, having worked within the SME/construction sector previously. This role requires a hands-on and personable approach, as you will be required to attend Group meetings, meet with internal/external customers and liaise with the engineers in order to fully understand all aspects of the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Over-seeing all purchase/sales ledger processing
- Payroll for approximately 30 employees
- Managing cash flow, profit and loss reporting
- Preparing the accounts to trial balance stage
- Bank reconciliations
- Journal entry
- Credit control
- Responsibility for expenses / credit card reconciliation
- Deal with the preparation of the monthly management accounts pack and deal with any queries that may arise
- Deal with the production of finance information for the management team and external accountants at month/year end
You will possess strong Excel skills, minimum intermediate level and previous exposure of Xero Accounts would be highly advantageous. The role would suit a candidate who is not afraid of hard work, someone that enjoys setting up processes and systems and is happy deal with anything that is thrown at them.
The role will be based in their beautiful offices, with on-site parking. Hours of work 9am – 5.00pm but my client can be flexible with start/finish.
