David Radford – Director (Software)

What is your recruitment background?

After a successful stint within retail, I opted to make the move into the world of recruitment. Right from the get-go, I worked within the executive search sector specifically focusing on senior appointments in the Software & IT space.

Very quickly I realised this was the sector I wanted to focus my recruitment career around, for me the opportunity to work with great organisations, cool brands and super talented people from both a client and candidate perspective, was a no-brainer. The biggest buzz has been the opportunity to work constructively with people to make a real impact on their lives.

Why did you join Now Careers?

For me it was definitely the people, the first time I met Gary Redman there was fantastic energy and I could envision working together, both as business partners and having him as a mentor. This, underpinned with the people I later met within Now Careers, made both my team’s decision and my own easy. We all have the same attitude of getting stuff done which is a key value of mine and is also required when working with the fast past world of Software & IT.

Now Careers is a fantastic brand, with true global presence that provides empowerment to all. Collaboratively, I foresee that we will become the global leading recruitment brand for both clients & candidates within the Software & IT sectors.

Away from recruitment, what do you do?

Both sport and keeping fit would be my biggest hobbies. Recruitment is not for the faint-hearted. Keeping myself in check, both mentality and physically, has been key in my own personal success.

I really enjoy going to the gym and running, having participated in a number of half marathons in recent years, as like work; sport is a great place to set yourself goals. I am also a Birmingham City season ticket holder (for my sins!) and you can often find me at a match both at home or away on the weekend.

My final passion would be travelling, having seen much of Europe and the Americas; the next on the bucket list is to go east and travel Asia and Australia as this is a big future aspiration of mine.

Robbie James – Director (Global Tech & Data)

What is your recruitment background?

I have over 10 year’s recruitment experience, covering industrial, commercial, logistics, skilled & technical. It was not until recent times that I moved into software sales & technology recruitment. An industry, which is both booming, and fascinating at the same time. I have had great success so far since moving into this sector, thoroughly enjoying the clients and candidates I am lucky enough to work with around the globe. I love the software space; my only regret was not getting into it sooner!

Why did you join Now Careers?

Simple; I brought into the vision of the company and enjoy surrounding myself with likeminded individuals who share the same long-term vision and goals, whilst enjoying the ride along the way. I believe David Radford and I work seamlessly together, almost like synchronised swimmers. When we had an opportunity to work alongside someone as influential as Gary Redman; I didn’t think twice. I immediately brought into the business and could not be any happier in the workplace – everyone here is stellar.

Away from recruitment, what do you do?

I love football, I watch any team ranging from Sunday League to Premier League. Apart from that, I enjoy travelling and have been lucky enough to go to some beautiful places around the world. Oh and dogs…I love dogs.
